Statistician Lead/Senior Data Analyst - Arkansas Center for Health Improvement

POSITION SUMMARY

The Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (www.achi.net) is an independent health policy center at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences that is dedicated to improving health through evidence-based research, public issue advocacy, and collaborative program development. We are recruiting a Lead Statistician/Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team and provide leadership in quantitative analytic research. This statistician will help develop and manage a program of research to answer important health policy questions for the state by utilizing integrated administrative data from Departments of Health, Human Services, State Police, and Public Education, among others. One particular focus will be utilizing multi-payer health care claims data to study patterns of health care utilization, need, and service costs to inform policy.

Health Services Research Director - Minnesota Department of Health

The Health Economics Program in the MN Department of Health is seeking to fill its Health Services Research Director (HSR) position. This position, in an applied, fast-paced environment at the intersection of health policy and research, is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating technically complex research initiatives related to assessing health care system performance; cost and price trends in the health care markets; patterns of disease prevalence, service use and variation; and topics in public health economics, health care finance and health care organization. The position provides technical leadership to the program’s management and policy staff on methodological issues, including statistical and econometric techniques and risk adjustment of public and private markets; it also provides technical assistance to contractors and research partners across the agency and state.

Overall, the VP position leads CIVHC’s Analytics and Data Operations efforts for all related CIVHC activities including CIVHC’s consumer reporting site. The position also establishes relationships with providers and CIVHC leadership, designs and implements a strategic approach to analyzing existing and new data sources in conjunction with the Research team, determines technology and reporting capabilities required, and allocates resources efficiently. In addition, responsibilities will include overseeing new and existing external vendor contracts within the Analytics and Data Operations team.
