DIRECTOR, DATA SYSTEMS AND ANALYTICS
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The purpose of the Data Systems and Analytic Department at the Maine Health Management Coalition is to be the acknowledged and respected source of health care data and analytics that informs goal setting, evaluation, purchasing, consumer choice, and risk arrangements for payment reform and system redesign in Maine. This analytic asset is an important tool for purchasers and providers working to transform care and a fundamental benefit for all MHMC members.The Director’s role is to lead this department, develop and execute on a sustainable strategic plan and to achieve excellence in a changing competitive landscape . The Director is also expected to play a leadership role integrating with the Department with national efforts striving to achieve similar objectives.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST HAVE:
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the Maine Health Management Coalition
- Foundation
- Deep understanding of the health care system and a vision for its improvement and payment reform
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills and success working with individuals and large multi-stakeholder groups including ability to debate issues with senior leaders and technical experts
- Deep analytic experience and training
- Understanding the measurement and identification of drivers of group health plan performance.
- Experience in health care provider performance measurement for cost, utilization and quality.
- Knowledge of statistical methodology and theory, and practical experience using this methodology
- Experience in handing large data sets, preferably at the programming language level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A demonstrated commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards;
- High comfort level working in a fast-paced, complex, and high stakes environment;
- Proved skills managing staff and consultants.
