The mission of the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) is to monitor the Massachusetts health care system and to provide reliable information and meaningful analysis for those seeking to improve health care quality, affordability, access, and outcomes.

CHIA is seeking an experienced healthcare quality measurement professional to help shape future public reporting and analysis of Massachusetts statewide quality data.  The Quality Measurement Specialist will lead healthcare quality data analytics and provide expertise on constructing, calculating, analyzing and reporting quality measures using All Payer Claims Data (APCD), hospital case mix and clinical data.  S/he will create a framework for reporting and analysis, and will supervise one to three analysts.

Temporary Health Policy Analyst-Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety and Medical Error Reduction

Background:

The Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety and Medical Error Reduction (BLC) seeks an energetic, resourceful Health Policy Analyst for September-December 2014, with the possibility of extension.

Originally established in 2004 within the MA Department of Public Health, and after a several year hiatus, the BLC was recently reestablished as an independent agency within the Center for Health Information and Analysis. The BLC has a broad mandate to improve patient safety in Massachusetts. It is named after Betsy Lehman, the Boston Globe health journalist who died from an overdose of chemotherapy in 1994.
