CHIA’s Health System Performance (HSP) team is looking for talented Health System Policy Analysts to join a highly effective and dynamic team and will be responsible for developing, producing, and managing reports and products. The Analysts will use a variety of internal and/or external datasets, including the Massachusetts All Payer Claims Database (APCD) to produce standard reporting and ad hoc analytic projects related to health care coverage, costs, access and utilization in Massachusetts. S/he will have a passion for analyzing data and a proven ability to effectively communicate analytic results. The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, creative, a fast learner, and will enjoy working in a collaborative team-environment.
The preferred candidate will have:
- An understanding of the Massachusetts health care delivery systems and health care reform efforts, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Analyzing large data sets, including health care enrollment and claims data
- Experience using software products such as Excel (SAS a plus) and other business intelligence tools to identify and analyze relevant data
- High proficiency using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce written reports and graphics to effectively convey complex information
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with a broad range of audiences
- Knowledge of statistics, quantitative research methods, and policy analysis
- Ability to conduct literature reviews on a variety of health policy topics quickly and reliably
- Experience managing tasks and projects while successfully meeting deadlines
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
