The Health Policy Analyst role is an exciting career building opportunity that is critical to the work of the Provider Financial Analysis group at CHIA. We are seeking a candidate who will contribute to the development and analysis of provider financial data sets. The successful candidate will be motivated and have a keen interest in financial and statistical analysis. S/he will join a team of talented analysts and will be responsible for performing financial analysis of costs, service utilization, and other data to inform policy decision-making. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual that is passionate about health care in the Commonwealth, collaborates well with teams, and delivers exceptional results.
The successful candidate will have:
- Ability to read and interpret financial documents such as provider cost reports, financial reports, accounts, etc.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply statistical and financial methods and techniques to conduct financial and policy analyses
- Possess solid presentation and communication skills to prepare general and statistical reports
- Demonstrated ability to write concisely, to express thoughts clearly, and to develop ideas in logical sequence
- Ability to prepare and use charts, graphs and tables
- Ability to manage workload to simultaneously advance several projects with overlapping deadlines
- Ability to work independently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of the Massachusetts health care system
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) at an intermediate level
- Proficiency in database extraction and reporting software such as Access or SAS is preferred
