Patient Address collected with Discharge Data

Here at NAHDO, we get quite a few questions about state data collection practices and policies. The public health community is increasingly using hospital discharge data for surveillance, including Environmental Tracking, and patient address is important for identifying prevalence and monitoring outcomes...

Are you aware of the HCUP State Inpatient Data sets (SID), which are state patient level data sets mapped into a national uniform format (losing some local granularity) and, for limited statistics, the HCUPnet? http://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/sidoverview.jsp hcupnet.ahrq.gov
